Nagaland moots new Industrial Policy: Khekiho
Kohima, Jun 27: Nagaland Government has formulated a new Industrial policy by which the employees of the Department of Industries would be required to promote an industrial unit, Nagaland Industry Minister Khekiho Zhimomi said.
Disclosing this at the inaugural session of the day-long meeting of farmers and distillers of medicinal and herbal plants held here at the Red Cross building yesterday, Khekiho was optimistic of the success of the policy and reminded that the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants was not a new thing in Nagaland as it had started way back in 1960s.
Delivering the key note address, Principal Secretary and Agriculture Production Commissioner Alemtemshi Jamir lamented that Nagaland was currently missing the aspects of processing, transportation and packaging of aromatic plants.
