Morphine estimated at Rs 60 lakh seized, 2 arrested

Lucknow, June 27 (UNI) Police busted a narcotic syndicate in Asandara area of Barabanki district with the arrest of two persons and seizure of morphine estimated at Rs 60 lakh in the international market.

Police said Shakil Ahmad and Mohd Iqbal were arrested yesterday during a routine patrol near the Chandi Singh trisection.

Both were carrying 300 gms morphine each at the time of arrest.

They had been sent to jail.
