Aizawl, June 27 (UNI) Hundreds of Mizo students today staged a ''Protect Mizoram Boundary'' rally and demanded a return of Dholai in Asom.

The rally was to protset the demolition of construction of a house built by the supporters of Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP), Mizoram's largest student body.

The MZP recently constructed a Zorun (Mizo house), at the 'disputed' area on the Asom-Mizoram border, which was dismantled by the Mizoram police last week.

The rallyists urged the Mizoram government to punish those who demolished the Zorun or face fresh agitation soon.

MZP president Lalhmachhuana slammed the Mizoram government for its ''indifference'' towards the boundary dispute, and alleged that the students had been compelled to come out to protect the ''true'' territory of Mizoram.

The MZP also renewed boudary issues of the state citing the Inner Line Regulation 1875 (also known as the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation) and subsequents border issues of 1904, 1917, 1930 and 1933.

The students shouted slogans demanding return of Dholai (now in Asom). ''We don't want Mr India's imposed boundary,'' and ''We want a government which can solve the long-standing border dispute.'' They also burned the existing Mizoram map claiming it as ''untrue''.
