Mayor tries to clear air over conversion charges

New Delhi, June 27 (UNI) Delhi Mayor Aarti Mehra today strongly appealed to Delhiites to pay conversion and parking charges.

Addressing traders at a special camp held at Karol Bagh here, she admitted that some confusion continued to prevailin the Capital on several issues related to conversion and parking charges.

She sought to clarify that payment of conversion and parking charges addressed the larger interest of the people and could meet with requirements of Master Plan 2021.

Meanwhile, CAIT Delhi State President Ramesh Khanna today demanded the MCD to come out with a clarification as to who were liable to pay conversion and parking charges in order to put a, end to the confusion over it.

He also asked the MCD to publish the roads and areas of each zone where traders and other persons were required to pay conversion charges.

Mr Khanna also demanded Delhi Government to ensure availability of Affidavit paper in sufficient quantity, whereas on the other hand, the MCD should also accept payment of conversion and parking charges through cheques also.
