Mango Mela at Pinjore Gardens begins on June 30
Chandigarh, June 27 (UNI) The annual Mango Mela, with two days of fun, frolic and feasting, will be organised at the Pinjore Gardens, near here, from June 30 to July 1.
The Mela, dedicated to the King of Fruits, would be inaugurated by Haryana Governor A R Kidwai at the magnificent gardens built in the Mughal style, Agriculture Minister Harmohinder Singh Chatha said.
Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda would preside over the Prize Distribution function on July 1.
The Minister said that housewives, individuals and institutions had been invited to participate in competitions regarding display of mangoes and mango products.
Various competitions included Rangoli, Fancy Dress with mango as a theme besides Mango Cutout, Mango Eating and Mango Quiz would be organised.
The Minister said attractive prizes would be given to the winners in each category. Tambola would also be organised in the evening on both days.
Photography competition for amateurs would also be organised.
A demo for the preparation of mango products would be given and a seminar would be organised on awareness of mango cultivation.
