Jalandhar's industrialist and his wife commit suicide

Hoshiarpur, June 27 (UNI) A leading financier and industrialist of Jalandhar and his wife allegedly committed suicide after consuming poison in their car on Hoshiarpur-Dharamshala road at Chohal village, ten from here, last night.

Police sources said the bodies of the deceased, Vinod Sayal (55) and his wife Kusam Sayal (50) were discovered last night from the car, which was parked on the Hoshiarpur-Dharamshala road, at around 2330 hrs by a SHO of Sadar Police Station, who was on patrolling duty.

The police said the suicide note recovered from the possession of allegedly stated that on account of harassment by his relatives, he and his wife decided to end their lives.

Police sources said Vinod along with his wife Kusam had left their house at around 1600 hrs in their car for Himachal Pradesh to pay obeisance at the holy shrine of Goddess Chintpurni, yesterday.

After the postmortem, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their relatives for cremation.

A case has been registered by the police under sections 306, 506 and 34 of the IPC.
