Jain Irrigation sees Rs 160 cr from mango pulp biz

New Delhi, June 27: Mumbai-based Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd today said its mango pulp business is expected to exceed a turnover of Rs 160 crore this year based on additional export orders in hand.

The company has won an order worth Rs 84 crore for supply of mango pulp from Hindustan Coca Cola Company, manufacturer and distributor of brands including Coke, Sprite and Fanta, and will be processed in the current mango season.

''The company expects to process in excess of 75,000 MTs of mangoes in the current season registering a 60 per cent growth in amount of quantity processed,'' it told the BSE.

Jain Irrigation won a Rs 33 crore order last year for the same. The fruit and vegetable processing division of the company is expected to register more than 50 per cent growth in the current financial year.

The company will continue to invest to expand product range by strengthening backward linkage with farmers so as to become major supplier of frozen, aseptic and dehydrated fruit and vegetable products, it added.

It has five plants for fruits and vegetables in the vegetable processing in India and one in the US. The company is a major supplier to many MNCs and to global leading beverage and food brands.

Jain Irrigation manufactures and distributes plastic sheets, irrigation systems and other agriculture related goods and components.
