HCL Tech sets up software centre in Poland
New Delhi, June 27 (UNI) Country's fifth largest software exporter HCL Technologies Ltd has set up a software development centre in Poland as part of its strategy to win more outsourcing business in Europe.
The centre coming up at Krakow next month will initially have a staff of 100 professionals that will rise to 250 by December, with a potential for further growth, the company said in statement today.
The new centre will scale to match the market demand with particular focus on application development and infrastructure services, it added.
''While we are seeing expansion of the types of services being outsourced to India, from infrastructure and applications to aerospace design and engineering, customers require more flexibility from outsourcing deals. They often want somebody on the ground and from the local market and we have been able to provide that very successfully from our Northern Ireland facility,'' HCL Great Britain Ltd, Europe President Rajeev Sawhney said.
The company is now getting more and more requests for this capability in Europe and once the centre in Poland gets operational, HCL will be able to offer customers increased flexibility in their outsourcing deals, he added.
The firm, which got 30 per cent of its revenue from Europe in the March quarter from 26 per cent a year-earlier, has a centre in Northern Ireland that has about 2,300 staff.
