GENBAND announces India operations for multimedia applications

New Delhi, Jun 27 (UNI) Developer of next-generation IP gateways and application solutions GENBAND Inc today formally announced the launch of its operations in India.

''We are proud to formally announce the launch of our operations in India. Indian intellectual capital has gained tremendous recognition worldwide and we are committed to leverage this talent pool to drive our multi media applications business,'' said US-based company Vice President (Marketing) Jody Bennett.

The Intellectual property created from India will help strengthen our product portfolio to serve a rapidly growing customer base of more than 500 customers globally, he added.

The company's multimedia applications software is currently being developed out of the research and development (R&D) facility in Noida.

The facility employs 77 engineers from premier engineering schools in India, said company Vice President (Engineering) Subhash Verma.

The focus of the R&D Centre in India includes product engineering, product validation and quality assurance, professional services in terms of customer support, technical publications, pre-sales and sales support, he added.

The company acquired BayPackets Inc in 2006 and the India facility was earlier operation under the BayPackets name.
