Farmer ridden with debts commits suicide
Hubli, June 27 (UNI) A 46-year-old farmer allegedly committed suicide for being unable to repay loans raised by him from cooperative societies and nationalised banks at Sherewad village near here.
According to police, Shankreppa Hanni took the extreme step by consuming poison in his field on Saturday last and his partially decomposed body was found last night.
Farmer's wife in her complaint to the police said her husband took the extreme step after being upset over not able to clear the loans raised for agriculture purpose.
