Exciting growth opportunities for structured cabling
Bangalore, June 27 (UNI) India is emerging a high growth and huge market for structured cabling, Vice President and Managing Director of Systimax solutions (Asia Pacific) Ispan Kandasamy, said today.
Talking to newspersons here he said the structured cabling market in Asia Pacific should hit US dollar 1.53 billion by 2010 with a compounded annual growth rate of 11 per cent from 2005 to 2010.
Citing a survey carried out by AMI Partners he said only 68 per cent of the market would be made up of residential and enterprise structured cabling with the reminder coming from data centre structured cabling market.
A typical data file had more than tripled in size over the last few years, he said, adding the trend was projected to continue over the next several years as multiple terabytes of data were moved and stored on enterprise servers in data centres. From 13.8 per cent in 2005, the business from data centres for structured cabling was expected to touch 32 per cent in 2010, he added.
He said the Indian market was growing at a CAGR of 46 per cent for structured cabling in data centres as against the overall structured cabling market growth of 22.1 per cent. The Indian data centre market opportunity, estimated to be worth around US dollars 100 million now was expected to double by 2009. The growth would be driving by increased supply and decreased cost of internet bandwidth and the reality of more domestic companies hosting their mission critical applications in third party data centres.
