Ex-BJP MLA booked for forgery

Moradabad, June 27 (UNI) A former BJP MLA Sarvesh Singh has been charged with forgery.

Two days back, a case was registered against Mr Singh for encroaching upon the Gram Sabha land, estimated at Rs 4 crore.

Earlier too, the former MLA was involved in similar cases.

Furious over Mr Singh's arrest, his supporters yesterday vandalised the residence of a Tehsildar in Thakurdwara.

Handing over the memorandum to the Additional District Magistrate (ADM), the mob also tried to abduct the Tehsildar's son Mayank.

Police had to lathicharge the mob in order to bring the situation under control.

Later, an FIR was lodged against 82 people, naming 32.
