Dr Mayande appointed as VC of PKV

Mumbai, Jun 27 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna today appointed Dr Venkat Manoharrao Mayande as the Vice-Chancellor of the Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola.

Dr Mayande, who is presently working as the Zonal Co-ordinator, Krishi Vigyan Kendra of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research at Hyderabad, has been appointed a term of five years from the date he assumes the charge of the Vice-Chancellor.

Dr Mayande succeeds Dr S A Nimbalkar whose term as Vice-Chancellor had expired on May 16, 2007.

Dr Mayande obtained his M Tech (Agri Engg) from the G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar and later secured PhD from IIT, Kharagpur. He has long experience in administration and academics to his credit, an official release issued here today.
