Dharna inside Orissa Assembly over Medical College issue

Bhubaneswar, June 27 (UNI) Legislators from Mayurbhanj district today created a noisy scene inside the Orissa Assembly demanding setting up of a Medical College in Baripada.

The issue was raised by BJP MLA Droupady Murmu during the zero hour and later other MLAs from Mayurbhanj district joined her demanding a Medical College in Baripada.

BJP members Pramila Giri, S Marandi, JMM MLA Bimal Lochan Das and Independent legislator Sambhunath Nayak also joined the agitating MLAs.

They showed newspaper cuttings in support of the demand.

They then went to the Mahatma Gandhi statue inside the Assembly premises and sat on dharna for few minutes as the house was adjourned following pandemonium over the Opposition demand for a debate on law and order situation.
