Congress condoles Yogendra Shukla's death
New Delhi, June 27 (UNI) The Indian National Congress mourned the tragic death of UNI Special Correspondent Yogendra Shukla in a road accident at Aurangabad early today.
Shukla, who was working at the head office here, had been covering the Congress Party for several years.
A familiar face at the AICC headquarters, he was very popular among fellow journalists and top leaders of the party.
AICC General Secretary in-charge of Media Janardhan Dwivedi and Secretary Tom Vadakkan called up the UNI Bureau to convey the party's condolences.
The car in which Shukla and his family members were travelling collided with a speeding goods truck near Bhokarwadi in the Pachod area, about 60 km from Aurangabad.
While the car driver died on the spot, Shukla breathed his last in a private hospital.
In a condolence message in Raipur, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh expressed sorrow at Shukla's demise, saying he was a dedicated and sincere journalist.
Chhattisgarh Mantralaya-Vidhan Sabha Patrakar Sangh president Mohan Rao and Raipur Press Club have also mourned the death of the senior journalist, who was earlier posted at the UNI
