CHGS services disrupted

New Delhi, June 27 (UNI) Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) services were affected for the third consecutive day today as the employees continued their protest by observing ''work to rule'' to press for their demands.

More than 7,000 CGHS employees, across 20 cities, refused to perform work of vacant posts and only did duty as per their designated work.

The demands include filling up of all vacant posts, proper and timely implementation of the ACP scheme, immediate compassionate appointments and providing drinking water in all CGHS dispensaries.

CGHS employees, under the aegis of the All India CGHS Employees' Association, launch the ''work to rule'' protest in 20 cities including Delhi, Meerut, Kanpur, Lucknow, Allahabad, Pune, Mumbai and Bangalore on June 25.

Delhi Association President Jaidev and Vice President Sube Singh Nager have been on an indefinite hunger strike since Monday.

Association General Secretary Ram Kishan accused the government of adopting lackadaisical approach towards the issues raised by CGHS.

''The authorities have been ignoring the issues raised by us...The government is adamant and is not fulfilling the demands,'' he said.
