'Blue Moon' to occur on June 30
Hyderabad, June 27: The second 'Full Moon', also known as 'Blue Moon', would occur on June 30.
The first full moon occurred on June one in India.
According to a press release here, B M Birla Science Centre Director B G Sidharth said the ''blue moon'' month occurs once in a few years. One full moon lasts for 29.5 days.
Interestingly, the month of May was a ''Blue moon'' month in the United States but not in India. This is because the full moon on June 1 in India fell on the last day of May in the US.
