Bengal govt announces incentive for small scale industry
Kolkata, Jun 27 (UNI) The West Bengal government today declared incentive package for small scale and micro industries.
Announcing the package, Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee said special attention should be given to small and micro industry to expedite the growth of this sector.
The 2007 incentive package would offer 7.5 to 10 per cent capital investment subsidy, 25 per cent interest subsidy and 30 per cent reimbursement of electricity charges for five years.
He said the package would also give 50 per cent refund of stamp duty and registration charges.
The Chief Minister said the main problem in the small and micro industry was the flow of credit from the banks and lack of training and skill upgradation.
The Centre is helping technological upgradation and cluster based growth model for these industries.
SME sector, the second largest employer in India, constitute more than 80 per cent of the total number of industrial enterprises in the country.
