8 detained for hob-nobbing with mafia don Babloo Srivastava

Lucknow, June 27 (UNI) Police today detained eight persons for threatening people on cell phones in the name of mafia don Baloo Srivastava for monetary gains.

Talking to mediapersons here, ADG (Law and Order) Brijlal said the police had been receiving complaints that when Babloo is brought to Lucknow for hearings in a CBI court, some people take advantage of visiting hours and get the don's mobile to threaten affluent bussinessmen and traders.

Abhishek Srivastava, Santosh Chaurasia, Sikander Ali, Anwar Hussain, Sanjay Sethi, Vivek Pathak, Mayank Mishra and Subhash Chaturwedi were taken in custody, when they had come to meet Babloo.

Fourteen cell phones and a laptop were recovered from their possession.

The don is brought from Bareilly jail for hearing, Mr Brajlal added.

The DGP said the interrogation is on and a case would be registered against them, if found guilty.

Meanwhile, the call details of the seized cell phones were being analysed.
