46 kgs RDX recovered in Jammu

Jammu, June 27 (UNI) Security forces recovered 46 kg RDX and other arms and ammunition, during separate search operations in Jammu and Kashmir late last evening, police said today.

A joint team of 4 Rashtriya Rifles and police recovered a big haul of arms and ammunition, including 40 kgs RDX, from Dhraman Nallah near Basti village, eight kms from Bhaderwah late last evening, SSP Doda Manohar Singh told UNI.

Besides RDX, security personnel seized three AK series of rifles (AK-47, AK-56 and AK-74), 528 AK rounds, one 12 bore gun, one anti-tank mine, three AK magazines, 35 Pika rounds, 50 sniper rounds, eight UBGL grenades, one wireless set, one IED RC, one IED, three detonators, one wireless set RDO box, and 20 SLR rounds.

The consignment was reportedly kept in a gunny bag hidden in a tree trunk.

Security forces also recovered six kg of RDX, a Chinese made 7.62 Pistol with two magazines, 22 rounds and four hand grenades hidden in a bag adjacent to river Tawi near IB at Makwal in Jammu district.

Similarly, one pistol, one revolver, two detonators and one AK round were recovered from Dogrian in Surankote area of Poonch district.
