4 auto lifters held, vehicles seized

Bulandshahr, June 27 (UNI) Police today claimed to have busted an inter-state auto lifting gang with the arrest of four persons and seizure of 11 four-wheelers.

In a joint operation by the Special Task Force (STF) of police and the local police, the gang active in the National Capital Region (NCR) was busted yesterday.

The gang used to lift cars from the NCR and sell it in other states and even Nepal on the basis of forged documents and number plates. Some employees of the regional transport office (RTO) had also connived with them.

The arrested accused were identified as Akram, Sammi, Popi Ram and Sheesh Pal. However, the kingpin of the gang Pankaj Agarwal, managed to escape.

A case had been registered and hunt launched to nab the other accused.
