PM's authority usurped by UPA partners

New Delhi, June 26 (UNI) The BJP which has often criticised Prime Minister as a person not having authority but as a person who occupies the office, today said that even his sole prerogative of having a Cabinet of his choice has been usurped by the UPA partners.

Briefing newspersons about the political resolution passed in the National Executive, senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj quoted the example of DMK announcing the name of its supremo M Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimo Zhi for the Union Council of Ministers. They not only talked about the status but also the ministry she would occupy when courtesy demands that the coalition partners will atleast make it appear that their decision is announced through the Prime Minister.

She said the political resolution also criticised the vote bank and appeasement politics of the UPA government which was in the third year in office having impact not just on social harmony, national security but even on the foreign policy.

The Government's claim to have checked inflation, prices of essential commodities had fallen flat. The image of the Left Parties had taken a severe beating after what happened at Singur and Nandigram where the communist regime attempted to hand over the agricultural lands to industries.
