Maoists trigger eco-blockade, attack police station
Patna, Jun 26: Signalling a two-day economic blockade in Bihar and Jharkhand, the Maoists attacked Dhibra police station in the extremist affected Aurangabad district of Bihar.
According to police, armed extremists attacked the police station around 2230 hrs last night and opened fire indiscriminately.
The sources said alertness of the police and their timely action averted any major incident. In retaliation police also opened around 30-40 rounds of fire.
No police personnel sustained injury in the shoot-out.
The sources said the extremists later fled from the spot.
Additional reinforcement was dispatched to Dhibra.
Nine hard core maoists were arrested and huge cache of firearms were recovered from them under the same police station last week.
