Mahindra launches two more Logan versions

Bangalore, Jun 26 (UNI) Mahindra Renault today launched two new variants of its popular brand, Logan 1.6 GLX (Petrol) and 1.5 DLX (Diesel) manufactured at its Nashik plant.

Speaking after launching the two new versions of Logan Nalin Mehta, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Mahindra-Renault, said here today that new models were rolled-out based on the inputs received from its customers.

He said ever since the launch of its Logan model in last month, over 2700 units had been sold and another 40,000 enquires received by the company. Over 20000 test-drives were tried out by the potential buyers, he said.

Mr Mehta also informed that the earlier versions of Logan brand had received good response and over 40000 units were expected to roll-out this year.

He said the company had already set up modern and customer- friendly dealers all-over the country in 28 places and it would be increased to 43 by September.

In Karnataka, that contribute about six per cent of the country's passenger car market, the company also sold about 400 units of Logan. In the Phase II of the Logan's launch schedule, ten more locations would be added to the dealer network by end of June. The new GLX and DLX variants will be available for bookings in all the locations in a phased manner.

Replying to questions Mr Mehta said Mahindra had invested about Rs 700 crore to set up its manufacturing facility in Nashik.

Mahindra and Renault had also decided to extend their strategic alliance and signed another MoU to set up a greenfield facility in Chennai with an installed capacity of 40000 units per year.

The decision to add another manufacturing facility was to consolidate the Mahindra Renault JV formed exclusively for the Logan version, he added.
