JNNURM housing programmes transferred to MAD

Hyderabad, June 26 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government today decided to transfer all housing programmes under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission(JNNURM) in Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam to the Municipal Administration Department (MAD).

Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy took the decision while reviewing the JNNURM activities with ministers and officials here.

Dr Reddy also sanctioned Rs 150 crore for JNNURM works and directed the officials to complete the works by December 2008.

Mangament consultants would be appointed and all works subjected to third party monitoring and official review.

Under JNNURM, Rs 8003.14 crore projects were being taken up he said adding there were 30 projects in Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.
