Madhya Pradesh: Advani to launch thermal unit

Bhopal, June 26: Senior BJP leader L K Advani will launch the first 500 megawatt unit of Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power Station at Birsinghpur in Umaria district on June 28.

With the commissioning of the Rs 2300 crore project, the thermal station's capacity would go up to 1360 megawatt and the State Electricity Board's installed capacity would become 3550 megawatt, according to Madhya Pradesh Energy Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya.

The state government was making concerted efforts to supply adequate electricity to the people of the state, he said.
