Naxals to block economy; Alert sounded
Ranchi, Jun 25: Alert was sounded and security tightened all over Jharkhand in view of the two-day economic blockade, called by banned CPI (Maoist), from tomorow.
Director General of Police J B Mahapatra today said all sensitive areas would be kept under strict vigil with special emphasis on railways, the commonest target of the naxals during such agitations.
Mr Mahapatra said pilot engines would be run for maximum trains adding routes of some trains would also be changed.
Besides, measures were being taken so that normal traffic on the roads was not affected.
About 18 districts out of the total 22 in Jharkhand are naxal dominated.
