Bhubaneswar,Jun 24 (UNI) After a frantic search a police team from Gujarat today rescued an 18-month-old child, son of a diamond trader, who had been missing since June 17 from Suraton, near a temple at Keredagadia in Cuttack district.

A seven-member police team from Gujarat arrived here on June 19 and sought the help of Cuttack police to nab the culprit.

After several raids, the police team finally located Pranshu, son of Ajay Siroya, the diamond businessman from Surat. The child was brought to Bhubaneswar and then flown to Mumbai to be handed over to his parents.

The police have not yet arrested anybody in connection with the incident but detained one person, suspecting him to be the main conspirator in the kidnapping case.

According to the police one Rushi Swain(25) working as Security Guard in the apartment where the businessman was residing, had kidnapped the boy on June 17. He boarded the Konark Express and arrived in Bhubaneswar and then took the boy to his village in Gopalpur under Banki Police station.

Swain later shifted the boy to his sister-in law Sukanti Swain's house at Panasbastra village apprehending police action.

Police suspect that the kidnapper left the boy near the temple close to Panasbastra village when he realised that the police team was after him and he would get caught any moment.

The child was found in good health police said adding the parents had been informed about the rescue of the child this morning.
