Non-Congress candidate for Vice-President's post: Bardhan

Hyderabad, June 24 (UNI) CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan today said the UPA would field a non-Congress candidate for the Vice-President's post.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Bardhan said the Left parties had decided to field a non-Congress candidate for the post of Vice-President as the Presidential candidate was already selected from the Congress.

''We have to evolve a consensus among all political partners of the UPA to decide the candidate,'' he said and added that the candidate would be decided only after the completion of Presidential election process.
