MP's ex-royal alleges temple jewellery missing
Panna, MP, June 24 (UNI) Former MP and erstwhile Panna royal family member Lokendra Singh today alleged that local ancient temples' diamond-studded ornaments and other jewellery, worth several crore rupees, were missing from the district treasury.
''I demand a high-level probe. Until verification of ornaments and property as per the complete list, the precise quantum of missing jewellery cannot be determined. I am surprised that the treasury did not have a single key for the locks on ornament-filled chests. Each lock had to be broken. A list of ornaments, made from 1957 to 1962, is being concealed,'' he told mediapersons.
The chests were recently opened in public.
