Gujarat: Mixed response to octroi bandh

Ahmedabad, Jun 24: Traders here today overlooked the call for a half-day bandh for scrapping octroi while in the Vadodara, Jamnagar, Rajkot and Bhavnagar municipal corporation areas traders observed the bandh.

In Junagadh traders observed half-day bandh and took out a silent rally holding black flags. They later presented a memorandum to district collector Ashwini Kumar.

In Jamnagar corporation limits, traders took out a scooterrally and later presented a memorandum to district collector VP Patel calling for early removal of octroi.

However, like in Ahmedabad, Surat traders did not observe bandh.
