Man who nabbed LeT terrorist commits suicide

Varanasi, June 24 (UNI) A man who helped the police nab a hardcore terrorist two years back, committed suicide by hanging self from a ceiling fan in Shivpur area here.

Balchand (40) ended life inside his house at Parmanandur village late last night.

Unemployment was ascertained to be the reason behind the suicide, police said today.

Two years ago, Balchand had helped the Shivpur police in arresting a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist, who had escaped from police custody near Virapatti (Shivpur) railway crossing while being taken from West Bengal to Jammu and Kashmir on a train.

On the last Republic Day, Balchand had been honoured with a reward of Rs 2,500 for his bravery.
