Governor, CM for water management in Nagaland

Chiechama, Jun 24: Nagaland Governor K Sankaranarayanan has stressed the need to focus on better water management and termed the water as the challenge of 21st century.

Inaugurating Rotary Water Management Project here, sponsored by Rotary Clubs of Murietta and Lake Elsinore, California, USA, under the Rotary International Matching Grant, the Governor yesterday said that the North East India, including Nagaland received abundance water during the rainy season and it remained dry during the dry season, which nedded proper management for regular supply of water.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said the state receives huge rainfall and echoed the concern of the governor.

He thanked the Rotary Club for extending humanitarian services, especially the USA sponsored water project at Chiechama, under his Assembly constituency.
