Former MC Asst Commissioner held in forgery case

Jalandhar, June 24 (UNI) Jalandhar Municipal Corporation's former Assistant Commissioner was today arrested in a forgery case.

Station House Officer Vibhor Kumar told UNI that former Assistant Commissioner (Municipal Corporation) Ved Vyas was arrested and sent to jail in a forgery case registered against him and one Rama Negi, a year back.

However, Rama Negi could not be arrested as he had already secured anticipatory bail against the arrest.

The SHO said after conducting an inquiry, it was found that Rama Negi, with the help of Ved Vyas, had forged documents in his name of the property belonging to one Sudarshan Kainth.

When Mr Kainth came to know about the fraud, he filed a complaint in the police and an inquiry was ordered in the matter, he added.

A case under sections 420-B, 465, 120-B of the IPC was registered against the duo in this regard.
