DHBVN extends Voluntry Disclosure Scheme

Hisar, June 24 (UNI) The Voluntary Disclosure Scheme (VDS) launched by the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) for declaring power theft and other irregularities committed by consumers has been extended till June 30, after that the campaign against the theft of electricity will be intensified.

A spokesman of the Nigam said here today that DHBVN had offered the voluntary disclosure scheme (VDS) for theft or unauthorised use of electricity for declaring irregularities, including tampering of meters, committed by the consumers in its area comprised of Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Bhiwani, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Gurgaon, Mewat and Faridabad district.

He said the VDS, in the beginning, was offered for 15 days up to June 14 but on public demand it was extended till June 30.

He informed that to take benefit of the VDS the consumers will have to deposit a token money as regularisation charges.

For declaring theft voluntarily, those consumers who have single phase meter will have to deposit Rs 200 per kilowatt load as regularisation charge, while those who have three phase meter will deposit Rs 300 per kilowatt load.

The Nigam would regularise the irregularities with out making any theft case, He added.
