CRPF driver arrested for killing motorcyclist in Kashmir

Srinagar, June 24 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Police today arrested and registered a case against a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) driver who killed a motorcyclist and wounded two pillion riders in Damhal Hanjipora of Anantnag district.

They said the motorcycle was hit by a Sawraj Mazda of the CRPF's 161 battalion at Asnoora in Damhal Hanjipora.

While the motorcyclist, identified as Ashiq Hussain Wagay, a resident of Drangbal, Damhal Hanjipora, died on the spot, two other pillion riders were wounded in the accident, police said.

The injured, identified as Sajad Ahmed Wagay and Arshid Ahmed Zargar, both residents of Damhal Hanjipora, were rushed to the Anantnag district hospital after being administered first aid.

Police said they have registered a case, under first information report number 56/2007, and arrested CRPF driver Biju, a resident of Karakulam in Kerala, in this regard.
