Chhattisgarh's naxals using tribal signals
Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, June 24 (UNI) Residents of tribal-dominated and naxalism-affected Bastar division are concerned over the rebels employing traditional tribal signals while trying to establish a reign of terror.
Tribal chieftain Budhram Rana, who is associated with the anti-naxal Salwa Judum (Peace Mission) movement, said, ''while committing crimes, the ultras use these signals to mislead tribals.
These signals are used by us to gather people and convey information. During the Rani Bodli massacre, the extremists used these signs to gather tribals and then killed innocents.'' Local tribals were linked to Maoists, Mr Rana alleged.
