AIBF urges AP CM for representation of Brahmins in ministry
Vijayawada, June 24 (UNI) The All India Brahmin Federation (AIBF) Secretary General Kota Shankar Sharma today said the Federation would urge the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy to give representation to Brahmin Community in his ministry.
Talking to newspersons here, he said if the Brahmins were accommodated in Dr Reddy's ministry, it would ensure encouragement and rewards for the community's contributions in bringing Congress to power in the state.
Mr Sharma lauded the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawathi for giving adequate representation for the Brahmin community in the recent assemby elections and also in the Cabinet.
He said to enhance the social status and to regain the political powers, the Brahmin and Dalit cooperation was the need of the hour.
To achieve this, other states should follow the footsteps of Uttar Pradesh, he added.
He said five Zonal Commitees would be formed soon by arranging congregation of Brahmins and Dalits in all the zones from September 2007 to August 2008.
Mr Sharma said the AIBF would work for the entry of all Hindu communities in temples and religious places. The Federation would also work for the eradication of untouchability, he added.
