8 policemen injured in Kashmir explosion

Srinagar, June 24: At least eight policemen were injured when their vehicle came under a landmine explosion, triggered by suspected militants on the city outskirts early today.

Police said a team of Special Operation Group (SOG), a counter-Insurgency force of the police, was returning after a raid when the blast took place at Makhdukm Colony Malroo near Shaltange, about 10 Km from here, at 0510hrs.

At least eight policemen on board the vehicle were wounded in the explosion, they added.
