5 held for issuing threats in name of Munna Bajrangi
Azamgarh, June 24 (UNI) Police today arrested five miscreants for threatening and demanding lavish ransom in the name of notorious criminal Munna Bajrangi here.
On Wednesday, the miscreants had despatched a threatening letter, demanding handsome amount of Rs 10 lakhs, in the name of the notorious don.
''The letter issuing life threats was despatched to 18 people, including 15 doctors, two contractors and one businessman,'' Police Superintendent K N Srivastava said.
The five accused were identified as excise department cop Ritesh alias Prince, Pankaj Singh, Tej Pratap Singh, Ankur Singh and Vikas Shukla.
On interrogation, they confessed that their intention was to earn money in the name of the dreaded criminal.
Meanwhile, local people have announced an award for the police team.
