Vigorous monsoon over interior and coastal Karnataka
Bangalore, June 23 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the Weather Office here at 0830hrs today.
Monsoon was vigorous over Interior Karnataka and active over Coastal Karnataka.
Very heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Agumbe 42, Bhagamandala 39, Kottigehara 35, Kollur 33, Siddapura, Madikeri 28 each, Subramanya 24, Dharmasthala 23, Linganamakki, Sringeri, Shahapur 22 each, Karwar, Kammardi 21 each, Mani, Jayapura 20 each, Mudibidre, Somwarpet, Kalasa, Koppa, Sindhanur 19 each, Bijapur, Karkala, Shirali, Manki, Ankola, Sakleshpura 18 each, Humchadakatte 17, Ponampet, Talaguppa, Siruguppa, Balaganur 16 each, Honavar, Madapura, Hanumasagar 15 each, Puttur, Deodurg, Tavaregere, Raichur, Kushtagi 14 each, Mangalore AP, Bhatkal, Siddapura, Sindagi 13 each.
Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Kumta, Nagathan, Yadgir 12 each, Panambur, Tyagarthi, Ballupet 11 each, Kota, Kundapur, B.Bagewadi, Jamakhandi, Rabkavi 10 each, Mulki, Yellapura, Shorapur, Manvi, Athani, Muddebihal, Hungund, Biligi 8 each, Mangalore, Haliyal, Gangavathy, Kuknoor, Badami, Lingasugur, Balehonnur, H.D.Kote, Hospet, Sandur, Bellary 7 each.
Forecast valid until Monday morning: Rain/thundershowers will occur at most places over the State.
Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at most places over all the districts of the State.
Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain may occur at a few places with very heavy falls at isolated places over the State during next 48 hours.
Fisheries warning: Strong onshore winds mainly from westerly direction speed occasionally reaching forty five to fifty five kmph likely along off Karnataka coast.
Local forecast: Generally cloudy. One or two spells of rain.
