Two MCF officials killed when walkway collapsed
Mangalore, June 23 (UNI) Two Senior officials of Mangalore Chemical and Fertilizers (MCF) Limited at Panambur, about 10 kms from here, were killed and two others injured when the walkway along with the occupants collapsed today.
The officials were checking the fault in the cooling tower plant when they fell from the height of about 18 mts as the walkway collapsed.
MCF Managing Director Deepak Anand, talking to newsmen here, said that the 4 member team were proceeding towards the damaged portion of the cooling tower when due to sudden gale the walkway collapsed.
All the four were immediately rushed to the hospital.
However, MCF General Manager (Maintenance) Ramachandra Bagalody and Senior Manager (Mechanics and Reliability) Ramachandra Baliga died on the way to hospital, while Mr Keerthan Kamat, Deputy Manager and Mr Valerian Mascarenhas, Officer were being treated at the hospital and their condition was stated to be stable.
