Two groups clash in Ahmednagar; four arrested

Ahmednagar, Jun 23 (UNI) Four persons have been arrested in clashes between two groups here.

The two groups -- arch rivals Shiv Sena and Congress party leaders - clashed over a minor argument last evening at Sarjepura area near here.

Sena activist Vilas Chaburao Landge (50) and former Corporator of Congress party Dilip Dhone beat members of each group, injuring few of them. The duo also opened gun fire but it misfired, said API Dattatray Pardeshi of Saweri police station.

Apart from Vilas Landge and Dilip Dhone, two more persons were arrested. They have been identified as Manoj alias Tagya and Nitin Dhone.

Vaibhav Landge and Sanjay Tayde were injured in the clashes and are recuperating in the local hospital.

Mr Landge and Dhone have been arrested under section 147, 143, 149, 324 of the IPC and under section 3(5) of the Indian Arms Act.
