Prisoner killed in firing
Indore, June 23 (UNI) A prisoner was killed and four others, including a guard, were injured when unidentified people opened fire at the Mhow sub-jail near here this morning.
Jail Superintendent Lalji Mishra said four unidentified people turned up at the jail premises during visiting hours around 1000 hours. Prisoner Jeetu Thakur was killed on the spot and four others, including a guard and three visitors, were injured as the unidentified people opened fire.
The injured were hospitalised, Mr Mishra said.
In the panic, the culprits managed to escape. Jeetu Thakur was arrested for the murder of Indore's Vishnu Ustad and detained at the Mhow sub-jail, 20 Km from here.
Some time back, the prisoners clashed in Indore jail and fire arms were also used.
