Police review security in view of Khalsa march

Moga, June 23 (UNI) Top police officials today reviewed the security arrangement in the region and held meetings with various leaders in view of the Khalsa Action Committee's decision to go ahead with the Khalsa March tomorrow.

Inspector General Police M K Tiwari, along with DIGs of Ferozepur and Bhatinda Range and other officials, conducted a survey with paramilitary forces at camp office at Dina Sahib here to ensure that the march to press upon the demand to arrest the Dera Sacha Sauda chief and the closure of Sacha Sauda Deras in Punjab, passes off peacefully tomorrow.

More than 4,000 police and para military forces personnel will be deployed along the 120-km route of the Khalsa March, starting from Gurdwara Zafar Nama at Dina Sahib in Moga district to Damdama Sahib in Talwandi Sabo.

The IGP declared that law and order will be maintained at all cost and nobody will be allowed to disturb the peace. He also appealed to the organisers of the Khalsa March to maintain discipline.

Earlier, the IPG with the senior officers also visited the Dera Sacha Sauda at Salabatpura, on the route of the Khalsa march, and directed the security officers to be vigilant. He also reviewed the Dera security arrangements.

According to DIG Ishwar Chander, the Deputy Commissioner and SSp Bhatinda earlier in the day held meeting with the organisers of the Khalsa March at Bhatinda.
