Nashik, June 23 (UNI) The probe in the Malegaon bomb blasts that rocked the powerloom town on September 8 last year is moving in a wrong direction, according to Sajid Sheikh, a Malegaon resident on whose information the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested some Kashmiri terrorists in Mumbai in 2005 thus preventing destructive activities of the arrested terrorists.

He told mediapersons here today that only one person was responsible for the Malegaon blasts and that person was in prison.

All others behind the blasts are roaming free, he said.

''I want to make efforts to release the innocent people who have been arrested in the case,'' he said.

According to him, the police had arrested these Kashmiri terrorists from Nagpada in Mumbai in 2005 on the information provided by him. They seized arms, explosives and also Rs 84 lakh cash. ''But the recovery of cash does not find any mention in the FIR,'' he claimed.

Only recently, Mr Sheikh joined the Shiv Sena. He said, ''No leaders in Malegaon supported me but Sena did, so I joined their party.'' Regarding the Malegaon blasts probe, he said he would submit an memorandum to the Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and Deputy Minister R R Patil.
