Lorry Owners Assn threaten fast on land issue

Puducherry, June 23(UNI) The Puducherry Lorry Owners Association today threatened to organise a fast on June 25 if its demand for allotment of 2,500 sq ft in the Transport Nagar, similar to the Goods Transporters Association, was not met.

Addressing the press here, Association President Kesavan claimed the administration failed to hold discussions with the Lorry Owners Association on setting up Transport Nagar.

Besides, the government announced the allotment of 2,500 sq ft for Goods Transporters Association and 500 sqft for commission agents at the Transport Nagar.

It also invited the Goods Transporters Association for a meeting and wrongly announced the Association President Ezhumalai as President of the Lorry Owners Association.
