Kerala announces Rs 3.15 cr for monsoon relief

Thiruvananthapuram, June 23 (UNI) The Kerala Government today announced Rs 3.15 crore relief for monsoon-related incidents in the state due to soil erosion and floods.

Seven badly-affected districts would get Rs 25 lakh each and the other districts Rs 20 lakh each, Revenue Minister K P Rajendran said here.

Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alapuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Malapuram Districts would get Rs 25 lakh each, a release quoting him said.

Free ration would be provided to all the affected people irrespective of APL and BPL cards.

Mr Rajendran said the Union Home Ministry and the National Disaster Management Authority had been appraised of the destruction due to soil erosion and floods.
