Jodhpur to become first pole-less city in Raj

Jodhpur, June 22: Jodhpur will become the first pole-less city in Rajasthan with the Jodhpur Vidut Vitaran Nigam (JVVN) deciding to lay underground cables for the supply of electricity in the city.

The JVVN has earmaked Rs 167 crore for this purpose.

This was informed at a meeting of the Traffic Management Committee under the chairmanship of Jodhpur Divisional Commissioner Mrs Kiran Soni Gupta.

During the meeting, Jodhpur district Collector Nareshpal Gangwar said the district administration took the decision to make Jodhpur a 'pole-less city' and work for laying the underground cables for the supply of power is in progress.
