JK officials inspect new camp for Amarnath Yatris

Jammu, June 23 (UNI) Senior government official including divisional commissioner jammu today inspected the new proposed site at Bhagwati Nagar, along the river Tawi for, the Amarnath yatra pilgrims.

Divisional Commissioner Pramod Jain alongwith Jammu Development Authority Vice Chairman Ashok Parmar, Deputy Commissioner Hirdesh Kumar Singh, Jammu Pataron Vikas Mandal chairman Ravi Mahajan, president Kuldeep Wahi and other senior officers of PHE, PDD,JMC, irrigation and flood control took stock of the preparations and other facilities to made available to the devotees.

The new site at Bhagwati Nagar would be made available only to Sadhus this year while it would function as permanent base camp for Amarnath Yatra pilgrims from next year onwards.

The Commissioner also directed the PDD, PHE, Irrigation Flood control and other department officers to make available necessary facilities before July 25 at Bhagwati Nagar site for sadhus.

Mr Jain said first batch of pilgrim to the holy cave of amarnath would be flagged off on June 30 at. From m a m stadium.
